Fast sell:

The second half of the documentary series on the ratings battle between WWE and rival promotion WCW. Featuring another gripping 10 episodes, it explores different aspects of the “War”, such as the WWE arrival of Chris Jericho, the influence of ECW and the “People’s Champ” himself, The Rock!

Synopsis:

In the 1995 WWE’s biggest competitor, southern promotion World Championship Wrestling, launched its own Monday night television show to go head-to-head with Raw. After luring some of WWE’s biggest name stars down south with record-setting pay-cheques, WCW Nitro started to beat WWE in the ratings for the first time ever.

In its effort to even the score, WWE gave birth to the “Attitude Era”, led by the incomparable “Stone Cold” Steve Austin. The result was a bitter war between the two promotions, which saw them trade wins, talents and insults. It would change sports-entertainment forever – and remains one of the industry’s most fascinating ever time periods.

Episode Highlights:

“The War Goes Mainstream”

“Monday Night Jericho”

“The War Gets Extreme ”

“The Fall of WCW”

“The War Gets Electrified”

We like it because:

After this first volume set the scene for sports-entertainment’s most chaotic and unpredictable era, this second set uncovers the rest of the War – the factors that came into play and ultimately won the ratings battle for WWE.

Not only does this volume focus on two of WWE’s most iconic Superstars, Chris Jericho and The Rock, it also gives a candid look at the mistakes that brought WCW to its knees – and the people responsible for its eventual destruction.

Perhaps most exciting are the post-episode analysis with the architect of WCW’s initial success, Eric Bischoff. Returning to WWE after several years, “Easy E” gives his frank and honest opinion on the Monday Night War’s most infamous events.
