Synopsis:

Children’s skulls are thin. Despite the controversy over mobile phone radiation, step into the near future and the full dangers are still not yet disclosed.

Irrespective, in order to avoid slippage down the international educational league tables, the government declares its intention to equip children with Augmented Reality Glasses.

Trials suggest that being permanently ‘plugged in’ can significantly enhance IQ.The potential benefits appear tobe enormous, but the electro-magnetism adjacent to a child s brain starts to cause unusual effects...

We like it because:

If you’ve ever worried today’s children are being indoctrinated too early by technology that seems to be taking over, LET’S BE EVIL will confirm your worst fears. Creepy kids, an experiment gone wrong, an underground facility and a retro synth score, combined with an innovative use of POV camerawork, all add up to make LET’S BE EVIL a smart and unsettling experience.

Featuring British favourite Kara Tointon (The Sweeney) as one of the chaperones, and child actress Isabelle Allen (world famous as the face on the iconic film posters for the 2012 film adaptation of Les Miserables), LET’S BE EVIL a gripping, first class sci-fi chiller, that mixes the paranoia of John Wyndham’s Village of the Damned with the thrills and chills of gifted child run amok movie Hanna, whilst pushing the boundaries of POV horror.

With a pulsing, It Follows-style synth score (by Mr Robot composer Julian Scherle), slick futuristic production design, and ably supported by a young cast playing the sinister, hyper-intelligent candidates of the Posterity Project, director Martin Owen (L.A. Slasher) piles on the shocks, making this not just an electrifying chiller, but a prescient warning about the terrors of technology.
