We like it because:
Based on John Bunyan’s much-loved, inspirational masterpiece, THE PILGRIM’S PROGRESS is one of the most popular books of all time, a powerful allegory about the importance of sticking to the path, even when the journey gets difficult. This is the first time this marvellous story has been brought to the screen as an animated movie.
Robert Fernandez, in his impressive debut feature, brings the timeless story to a whole new generation, using dazzling, state-of-the-art CGI animation, and the voice talents of the likes of John Rhys-Davies (The Lord of the Rings trilogy, Raiders of the Lost Ark). Strikingly realised, Fernandez delivers some truly exciting scenes detailing Christian’s journey, that include winged demons, kung-fu fighting, exploding volcanoes, fearsome lion statues that come to life, and a truly scary version of Beelzebub.
The Pilgrim’s Progress is a wonderful tale, suitable for all ages, that Variety says ‘reaffirm’s faith during gloomy times’.
