Riding the new wave of Serbian genre films, Killer Mermaids is a fun creature feature with added European flair. With the hugely talented and much talked about Zone of the Dead director Milan Todorovic at the helm, the film is beautifully shot and is perfectly paced as a group of well fleshed out characters fight to survive against the creatures from the deep.

Out on DVD 29th June, it is definitely one to capture.

Friends Kelly (Kristina Klebe, Halloween) and Lucy (Natalie Burn, The Expendables 3) travel into the depths of Montenegro to visit an old friend. While there, they decide to explore an abandoned military fortress located on a remote island.

As the summer sun quickly sets, the dark mystery of the night envelopes the girls as they realise they are not alone. There are secrets which must be protected and an evil darkness hidden beneath the island.

Awaking the mythical terror, dawn may never come for the two girls who realise they may not leave the fortress alive…

How can we not like a film about a group of friends having to escape from Killer Mermaids on an isolated island?? All of the characters are given great back stories and when the scares come calling this exciting creature feature gets a definite extra dimension and makes it scales above the rest!

Throw in Die Hard 2's Drug Lord Franco Nero and you have a must see which also cries out for a sequel. We're already in line!
